Business Development

Veterans know how to lead a mission. We help them own one.

Many veterans leave service with the discipline, leadership, and work ethic of a business owner — and an idea they’ve been carrying for years. The Business Development program at House of Valor Foundation helps veterans turn that idea into a real, running small business, with experienced guidance at every step and, like all of our programs, at no cost to the veteran.

Whether it’s a trade service, a consultancy, a storefront, or something no one has tried yet, we work one-on-one with each veteran from first sketch to open doors.

The Path from Idea to Open Doors

1

Refine the Idea

Pressure-test the concept, define the customer, and sharpen what makes it different.

2

Build the Business Model

Work out how the business makes money: pricing, costs, suppliers, and sales channels.

3

Develop the Business Plan

A complete, written plan ready for lenders, partners, and programs that support veteran-owned businesses.

4

Set the Budget

Startup costs, operating budget, and realistic financial projections for the first years.

5

Launch & Grow

Registration, licensing, and ongoing mentorship as the business finds its footing.

What’s Included

Every veteran in the program receives one-on-one coaching from experienced business mentors; help with entity formation, registration, and licensing; guidance on veteran-owned business certifications and the doors they open; connections to lenders, grant programs, and resources built for veteran entrepreneurs; and a network of fellow veteran business owners who have walked the same path.

Service taught them how to execute. We help them build something of their own.

Have a Business Idea?

If you’re a veteran with an idea — or just the itch to build something — we’d love to talk about where it could go.
